Please Help us One Penny at a time - Stampin Up demonstrators Make A Difference

I seriously need some help for our Ronald McDonald House!!!

I volunteered to help raise change for our Las Vegas Ronald McDonald house on July and I only get 4 hours to do it.
My goal is to raise 1,000. in change
can you please help me
send a check directly to our RMHouse at

2323 Potosi Street
Las Vegas, NV 89146

or you can pay pal me .50 cents or $1
to using pay pal.

If I can reach my goal before July 1st I'd be extremely elated
I'll post often to keep you up to date on the total we raise.
When I turn the money in I'll put it in the name of stampin up demonstrators (not my name)

Las Vegas –– For Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) it all started with one: one child who needed health care, one family who hoped to stay nearby and one community who came together to build the first Ronald McDonald House®. And, just one penny can make a difference today in the lives of children and families. RMHC is asking people to support their 1 campaign and “Join RMHC for 1” on Friday, July 1st by adding one penny, one dime, quarter or dollar to the RMHC Donation Boxes at any of the 107 greater Las Vegas McDonald’s restaurants including Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Laughlin, Mesquite, Overton, Pahrump, Paradise, Primm, and Searchlight. Money raised from Donation Box collections stays right here in our community to benefit RMHC of Greater Las Vegas.

RMHC plans to connect with supporters to create excitement and mobilize the masses to actively support RMHC families by giving in small ways. Last year alone, nearly $25 million was raised through the RMHC Donation Boxes in the U.S. These funds support programs which provide a bridge to quality health care and allow families to give 100 percent of their time to their children so they can heal faster and cope better. In fact, one full Donation Box could provide a safe place to stay in a Ronald McDonald House for up to one night.

“Our ‘1’ Campaign and the Join Us for 1 event day is designed to raise awareness for the RMHC Donation Box program and inspire greater giving throughout the year by sharing with people our history and the profound impact we have on families’ lives,” said Jennifer Blanchard Smith, senior director of Communications and Special Programs, RMHC. “While some may think that one penny or some spare change found in a couch can’t really mean much, we know that for RMHC families, small change means resources and stability they desperately need at a critical time in their child’s life. It adds up to a lot – there’s undoubtedly strength in numbers. We are very thankful for the millions of McDonald’s customers who help to support families through our programs by donating their change all year long."

Ronald McDonald House and Stampin Up demonstrators and volunteers making a difference in Las Vegas Nevada

One December before Christmas I visited the Children's Hospital and stamped with a little boy who had been in fire. He was badly burned all over and he was bandaged from neck to his toes. One are had mobility. The hair on his head was gone and his eyebrows were singed. You could tell he was in pain form the look on his face when they pushed his wheelchair in the room.
I asked what the can of soda was for that they placed on the table. The nurse said we had to bribe him to get out of bed so we could change his sheets. It was so painful to move he didn't get out of bed even to pee.
So he's here sitting in front of me with his big brown eyes and a pout on his face. He looked as if he was going to cry.
I was stamping snowflakes, using the stipple brush to tap navy ink around the edges of the card. He watched for a while with curiosity as the ink transferred to the paper then he was willing to try it. He gently reached out for the stipple brush wincing with pain. He gently tapped the ink pad and lightly touched the paper. Before long he was slamming the ink pad and slamming the paper with that stipple brush. I sat back in amazement as he was smiling and having a good time! No pain was apparent now!!!
He was stamping away with joy until he noticed the nurse enter the room out of the corner of his eye and then...
the pain on his face returned as he put down the stipple brush and cradled his arm as he did before.
That little boy changed my life! He was the first of a long line of wonderful experiences.
It felt so good to have the time and the talent to share what I love. It felt so good to know that for 15 min this boy was no longer in any pain. It helped me see that I am needed and that there children here who need what we have to offer!

YOU too can make a difference.

Just make up your mind to set an hour a week aside to help make cards for the children.

May God bless you and your family,
Sherrill Graff
