Christmas eve accident

Christmas Eve Jim was snowboarding on Mt Charleston with close family friends. He hit an icy patch and flipped his board landing on his back injuring 3 vertebrae. The did surgery at UMC Christmas Day. They sent him home from the hospital Tuesday evening. well... he made it through another night. Jim is tougher than we think. Although he is in a lot of pain he is working hard to get stronger. Thanks Grandma for having us at your place where he has everything he needs as well as a 24-7 nurse. Thanks friends and family for your prayers and support. We are blessed.
I haven't been able to work my Stampin Up business and I'm in need of a few orders before the end of December so here is a plea to my friends and customers: If you were thinking of ordering PLEASE DO.
We will be very thankful. Bless you all. Happy New Year - please be safe!

artist spotlight - Cristy Butzen a fellow Stampin Up demonstrator

Go visit her blog here:
Start by cutting up your choice of double-sided paper into squares (mine were 1" squares of Holly Berry Bouquet). This ornament takes about 15 squares.

Once your squares are cut, they need to be rolled into a conical shape (I used a paper piercer for this part).

Use a bit of adhesive to hold the cones closed. Make sure the seam is on the same side every time, or your ornament will look a little wonky.

I punched a Red Glimmer Paper shape from the Perfect Pennant Die (my new fave, #123126) to mount my cones, and glam-up the back side of the ornament.

After the cones are all mounted to the wrong side of the glimmer paper, make yourself a lolly to cover the center (mine was made from 8.5" x 3/4" DSP, scored every 1/4"). Hot-glue may be needed to hold that lolly down!

Top off with a button (Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Buttons), add a hanging cord and place on your tree or gift!

Stampin Up Christmas gift, ideas and photos - by sherrill graff

Eleven Las Vegas Stampin Up demonstrators met at Tami's home where she greeted us with Christmas lights and decorations as well as a yummy dinner!

Thanks Tami. Dinner was wonderful, just like you!

Then on to the gift exchange...

This is always my favorite part of the party
I love all the ohh's and awe's

I created these 4 blocks to give away. I love these cute felt additions don't you?

as well as seeing who will take another's gift sending them back under the tree for more.

Penny took Tami's gift...

The gift that got the most attention was this MDS one created by Julie.
She created this and printed out a few copies then layered the images adding a little dazzle.
She will be teaching us all a My Digital Studio class January 5th at her home.

Mary created this fun sewn apron with Stampin Up fabric.

All of the gifts are handcrafted like this antique clock made by Tami.
And this assortment of scrapbook pages created by Melissa.

Check out this cute little card, perfect right down to the very last detail created by Bea.

The window on this gift is the clear block packaging ... very smart idea!

Thanks to all of you who came and made this night a fun one to remember. Thanks for your friendship as well as sharing your creativity with us!
For all of you who didn't get to come, we hope to see you at our December 6th sample making party pot luck at Melissa's home at 6pm.

I have plenty catalog mini items and SAB items for us to use. Bring your own adhesive, cardstock, a potluck item to share, and your imagination!
